I’m Dave, the founder of PolarKit.
For years, I’ve been an entrepreneur building businesses, working long days, taking risks, and experiencing both the highs and the very real lows that come with it.
There have been periods of growth and success, but also burnout, overwhelming stress, financial hardship, and times when it felt like everything was happening at once.
Through all of it, cold plunging became one of the constants in my life.
It gave me something simple to come back to. A few uncomfortable minutes where everything else disappeared and the only thing that mattered was getting through the cold.
The DIY Problem
Like a lot of people, I loved cold plunging but I couldn’t justify spending thousands of dollars on a premium system.
So I built my own.
I converted a chest freezer into a cold plunge and, over the years, kept rebuilding and improving my setup.
Different pumps. Different filters. Temperature controllers. Timers. Sanitization systems. Wiring. Tubing. Fittings.
Every version got a little better.
But every time I looked online, I noticed the same problem: there was no simple solution.
You could spend thousands on a purpose-built cold plunge, or you could piece together a DIY system yourself, researching dozens of components, figuring out what worked together, and hoping you got it right.
I kept thinking:
Why isn’t there just a kit for this?
That question eventually became PolarKit.
From DIY Project to Plug-and-Plunge
PolarKit takes what I learned through years of building my own chest-freezer cold plunges and puts it into one complete system.

Why We Built It
I don’t believe cold therapy should be something reserved for professional athletes, luxury wellness clubs, or people willing to spend thousands of dollars on equipment.
Some of the periods when cold plunging meant the most to me were also the periods when spending $5,000+ on a cold plunge would have been completely unrealistic.
That’s a big part of why PolarKit exists.
To make premium at-home cold therapy accessible to more people.
We didn’t invent the chest-freezer cold plunge.
